Charlotte Commercial General Contractors See Retail Store Design Trends from Banking Centers?

One of the most modern and convenient professionally-designed interiors is actually your new neighborhood banks!  The new Bank of America banking centers are beautifully-designed, extremely functional, and built for customers to relax and mix-and-mingle!

Designing retail and public spaces takes vision, creativity and and thoughts of the “end user”, or customers!  When we at Ferrara|Buist design and build retail and public spaces, we immediately start from the viewpoint and usage-point of the customer.  How will they interact with the retail brand when they are inside the store?  Where will they look?  Where will they sit?  Where will they interact with staff?  What is the “sales funnel” to guide them to purchases?  What does all of that look like!

But let’s get back to the beauty of  the new Bank of America banking centers.  We’ll use this as an example of how banks could be setting retail store design for retail owners to follow.

1.  The space is open and inviting.  There is room for me to approach the different areas inside the bank that I need to visit.  Notice in the photo below that there is no clutter or “cramped” lines or waiting areas.  So think “open and inviting” in retail space design.

2.  Eye and arm-level display areas.  How often have you been in a retail store and there is so much inventory at foot level or 3-feet above your head?!  The bank does a great job at presenting their products at eye and hand level.  It’s easy for me to see and get the information that I need.  Retail stores should like this design tip!  See the photo below.

3.  Places for people to sit! Something as basic as offering people a place to sit is usually forgotten when designing retail store spaces.  Ferrara|Buist designs spaces for your customers to feel good, feel safe, and feel comfortable.  In the photo below, the bank has created a warm, comfortable and inviting space for people to sit and wait.
